RAYMOND, ME—October 29, 1996—Hearst Broadcasting and Dielectric have reached an agreement where Dielectric will supply television equipment for Hearst's stations nationwide. Under the terms of the agreement Hearst Broadcasting will purchase antennas, transmission line, and RF components for DTV and NTSC from Dielectric Communications.
Hearst, based in New York City, is the one of the nation's largest group owner of television stations. Hearst owns or operates television stations in seven major markets in the US including: WCVB, Boston; WWWB, Tampa; WTAE, Pittsburgh; WBAL, Baltimore; WISN, Milwaukee; KMBC, Kansas City; and WDTN, Dayton. In addition, Hearst owns a variety of other media holdings including AM and FM radio stations, newspapers and magazines.
Dielectric is a leader in antenna system design for digital technology and presently has contracts with 50 stations in 22 markets for DTV design studies. Dielectric has completed the DTV design study for San Francisco's Mount Sutro and is currently designing the DTV facility for World Trade Center in New York City.
